Often
times when people talk about the "Dreamers" or DACA, you hear tales
eliciting sympathy of, let's say, the valedictorian of the high
school that was brought here illegally by her parents.
And
oh does she love America!
You
also hear that "Dreamers" are good for the economy.
They
are just young, helpless kids.
Yada,
yada, yada.
Here's
the truth, though: legalizing the "Dreamers" is all about
votes. A memo from the Center for American Progress, written, in
part, by Jennifer Palmieri, former Director of Communications
for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, literally says
this.
The
memo states that political allegiances are made during times likes
this and that if "Dreamers" aren't made citizens, then the
democrats might be in for continuous loses.
However,
if the "Dreamers" do become citizens, we could be in for a Blue
Wave.
"Dreamers",
overwhelming, will vote democrat. Studies have shown that immigrants
equals more democrats, while multi-generations are more likely to
vote Right Side.
I
suppose freedom gets better with age.
Trump
is about to make a huge mistake if he goes through with this. He
could be signing the Republican Party's death sentence.
That's
not always a bad thought, but it means the only Right-wing
(middle-Right?) institution with adequate firepower around is
surrendering to the Left.
That
cannot happen.
Trump
has been praising the democrats and even mistakenly publicly told
Senator Feinstein they could do DACA first with the commitment that
we would take care of everything else later. That's a one-way street
to getting screwed over.
Representative
Kevin McCarthy even jumped in to say, more or less, 'No,
Mr. President, we need security and other things from our wish list
for DACA.'
Trump
seemed to think that's what Feinstein said. Maybe he wasn't
listening when she was talking?
Either
way, the direction this is going is not good. Even if we
end chain migration and build a wall, providing "Dreamers" with a
path to citizenship means the Right loses the next election and
probably more after that. Because the Left will buy as many votes as
possible in the meantime, per their M.O.
Free
this. Free that. Same old story.
This
is a major point in Trump's presidency. He needs to realize that no
matter what he does, he will be enemy number one of the press.
"Dreamers"
will provide cover for a few days until impeachment and treason
talks resume.
Don't
fall for the trap.
The
Center For American Progress (CAP) Action Fund circulated a memo
on Monday calling illegal immigrants brought here at a young age
— so-called “Dreamers” — a “critical component of the Democratic
Party’s future electoral success.”
The
memo, co-authored by former Clinton communications director
Jennifer Palmieri, was sent around to allies calling on
Democrats to “refuse to offer any votes for Republican spending
bills that do not offer a fix for Dreamers and instead
appropriate funds to deport them.”

Action’s memo says protecting DACA is not only a “moral
imperative” for Democrats, it also key to getting votes.
“The
fight to protect Dreamers is not only a moral imperative, it is
also a critical component of the Democratic Party’s future
electoral success,” reads Palmieri’s memo, obtained by The Daily
Caller News Foundation.
“If
Democrats don’t try to do everything in their power to defend
Dreamers, that will jeopardize Democrats’ electoral chances in
2018 and beyond,” reads the memo. “In short, the next few weeks
will tell us a lot about the Democratic Party and its long-term
electoral prospects.”
